Heavy D -- real name Dwight Arrington Myers -- was rushed to an L.A. hospital around noon today ... and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1 PM. He was 44 years old.
Heavy D appeared to be making a comeback of sorts. He just performed last month at the BET Awards. He appears in the new film Tower Heist and with Keenan Ivory Wayans bringing back In Living Color, 2012 seemed like a perfect year for him to return to prominance. This is a devastating loss for the Hip Hop community.
